KOIN, Portland
One of the pioneer stations of the Pacific Northwest, KOIN began its proud record when the station's doors opened in 1925. At that time, KOIN broadcast radio programs from its headquarters -- a single room in the Portland Hotel. Within months, KOIN joined the ranks of the best-known and most-trusted stations in the country. By 1930, KOIN was Portland's CBS affiliate.
