Established 1986 Countrysport was established in 1986 in Seattle, Washington as a premium fly fishing and wing shooting retailer. Over the next five years Countrysport expanded to three locations including Portland, Oregon, and Traverse City, Michigan. The Midwest location specialized in wing shooting and began operating as Countrysport Press, publishing books on upland hunting and fine shotguns, while the west coast locations concentrated on fly fishing. In 1994 the company split. The west coast operations were consolidated to a single location in Portland, Oregon, while the Midwest operations moved to Ohio. Out of this consolidation emerged Countrysport Limited, the northwest's premier fly fishing store and outfitter offering an extensive selection of fly fishing products, clothing, fly fishing classes & seminars, tackle rentals and guided fly fishing and hunting trips worldwide.
